Wednesday Night Movie
This week's movie is Good Will Hunting starring
Robin Williams, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. The film is
a touching tale about Will Hunting, a janitor at MIT
who has a extraordinary ability in mathematics,
and a psychologist who tries to help
him with his gift and the rest of his life. Showtime is 7:00
p.m. at the Ramada. Thanks to Jane and
Eric Ellingson for sponsoring this event.
Oktoberfest!
Celebrate the return of the fall season at the
Hospitality Committee's Oktoberfest at the Ramada on Tuesday,
October 17, at 6:00 p.m. The
cost will be $8.00, and the menu includes bratwurst,
sauerkraut, German potato salad, navy beans and
dessert, and, of course, beer. Prost! For those who
do not like bratwurst, there will be hamburgers and
hot dogs. Wearing a Bavarian dirndl or lederhosen is
optional, but if you want to get into the Bavarian
spirit without a fancy costume, at least try
adorning your regular attire with a wiesn glupperl (Google
it to find out what it is) instead of your EE
name badge. Are you new to Esperanza Estates? The
Bienvenidos Committee has reserved a special table
at the Oktoberfest for new residents to encourage
you to attend this event. Of course, sitting there
is optional, but it's a great way to meet other
newcomers.
Attention Hospitality Committee
A meeting to plan for the Oktoberfest will be held
at the Ramada on Wednesday, October 11, at
11:00 a.m. New members are welcome.
Could It Be? Yes, It Could. Something's
Coming. Something Good!
No, it's not an EE production of West Side Story
(Bet you'll be humming that one all day long.) It's
the monthly EE Board meeting scheduled for Monday,
October 16 at 1 p.m. No need for
reservations. There are enough tush cushions for
all at the Ramada. Further discussion of street
lights is bound to be illuminating.
EE Cliff Hanger Announcement
Treasurer Joan Moreaux has been
gathering the numbers for a To Be Scheduled open
meeting of the Budget Committee. Keep your eyes on
your e-mail for future announcements.
The Periodico Returns
Thanks to Joe McCalpin, Nancy Ferguson,
and Frank McCabe, the
Periodico will continue to bring you information
about Esperanza Estates. If you are interested in
working on it, contact Joe at 867-8067.
EE Book Exchange
The EE Book
Exchange is located within the pool area. It
provides an opportunity to find books
without a due date as well as a place to
share books that have been read and enjoyed.
Because shelf space is limited, there are
some restrictions on items such as puzzles
and magazines. Magazines should be from the
current year only--issues from previous
years can be donated to the White Elephant
or put in a recycling bin. While puzzles can
be an entertaining pastime, space
limitations prevent keeping puzzles for use
at the pool. Any puzzles left in the cabinet
will be donated to the Enhancement group for
their Ramada Sale in the spring.
Where Will You Be?
Treasurer Joan Moreaux and Secretary Kris Bean are
getting ready to prepare and mail dues notices and
ballots for 2018. Dues notices will be mailed just
prior to December 1. Ballots will go out in
mid-December. The address you supplied on the 2017
compliance forms is the address that will be used
for these mailings. Changes? E-mail your request
to eekris2017@outlook.com or PRINT
them neatly and mail to Esperanza Estates,
PO Box 181, Green Valley, AZ 85622. Changes
must be received prior to November 1 to
be entered into the database.
Monday Morning Memo
If you read the MMM on the website rather than
receiving it by email, this is to let you know that
the memos for October 16 and October 23 will
not be posted on the website until October 30. If
you receive the memo by email, you will receive them
at the regular time.
Trash Pickup
Trash and recycle pickup this week are on the
regular schedule and will not be delayed by the
Columbus Day holiday.
